Windows 10: Tick mark files

All the folders and files in documents are added to desktop they contain tick mark.how remove them from desktop without deleting them

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Tick mark on short cuts

As you have suggested, I think it is 'One Drive' or Google drive synchronization.

But why?

I have Office 2019 Pro.

For the last few days or so I was being encouraged to join Office 365' subscription, which is costly for me. I am 73 running and no more attached to any office. My 2 daughters have their own Office 2019 license, and therefore no reason to subscribe. Maybe,
I do not remember. I might have accidentally clicked for some trial for 'Office 365' subscription.

This morning I found that a simple 'refreshing of the desktop removes those tick marks.

I am a seasoned Windows expert with almost a decade in usage and support experience and hope to resolve your problems quickly.

These tick marks are usually an overlay by any sync or scan program. Usually this could be OneDrive, Norton, Google Sync, Nextcloud, Owncloud or any other sync tool indicating that the files with the checkmark are already are synced to the cloud and therefor
safe. Check if you have any of those applications installed and configurated in a way that they sync the files on your desktop.

Regarding your second queston: The file might just be broken.

Open Excel and try to create any file, safe it, close Excel and then try to open the newly created file.
