    TightVNC service

    Hello,
In the "Show hidden icons" found something new "TightVNC service", searched the net and found it is a program and to uninstall it to use the normal way, but it is not on the installed programs list, and not in the 'program files' folder. However found a line in the 'task manager services' and some entries in the registry.
I do not know where it came from, what is it, and shell I get rid of it ?
    Thanks for answering.
    Thanks

    :)

I've set temporarily a password, I've also tried tightvnc but the RDP quality is much better. Also you can copy / paste files through rdp. I think tightvnc is too old.

  3. TIGHT VNC SERVER FOR WINDOWS (32)biit)

    Hi,

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.

TightVNC is a free remote control software package. With TightVNC, you can
see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer.

I would suggest you to check if TightVNC is installed in your PC. If installed I suggest you to uninstall it and scan full PC by using Windows defender scan.

In search, type programs and features > check for TightVNC software > select it and click on
    uninstall.

For more information on this post your query on TechNet forums. Refer to the following link:

    Hope it helps.

If you want to check and see if you have vnc server running you can use this command in a command promt.

Code: netstat -ano | findstr 5900[/quote] If it is running you see this:

    Hello,
Opened the mentioned link, what I did is this: Searched the whole C (system) folders, wherever I found "TightVNC" and/or "TVNserver" deleted these folders/files, also scanned the registry and cleared every such entry (first exported the item/s), made another whole search and found nothing.
However they are both listed (disabled) in the "Task manager" as you can see on the attached screenshots, and cannot remove them from there.
One in the 'services' tab, the other in the 'startup' list.
How to remove them from there ?
    Answers will be appreciated
    Thanks
