Time freezes on my computer, but everything currently open works.

So, if I leave my computer on for a while time freezes. The clock stops going up. Currently, at 10:38pm it thinks it is 2:40. But my computer itself isn’t freezing… because everything currently open continues to work perfectly. I cannot open anything new, I cannot click the taskbar icons to open anything, pushing the windows key and typing does not show results (it’s just gray, doesn’t even say no results or anything.)

Normally, I just restart and it’s fine, but it’s been starting to really get on my nerves, and the final straw is just now as I’ve been doing this incredibly long file transfer (the cord I’m using is terrible so it’s slow, but I’m not canceling this far in) and the issue has popped up. And the only thing open is file explorer. So my only options are restart the computer, and thus the transfer, or wait it out unable to open anything at all.

If anyone has any ideas, please help me.

EDIT:

I tried directly opening from the exe of my browser on file explorer (side note, “this pc” would not load at all) and it sort of opened. Taskbar doesn’t show it as open, it isn’t loading, the whole application is gray, the view bar of my file explorer is stuck in place even when I move file explorer, and my mouse has the spinny blue wheel but the animation is not playing. I can move it.

Task Manager does not seem to update anything, showing static unchanging values for every application, however I did manage to use it to close my browser. Applications do disappear from task manager when closed. Windows defender has not found anything on my pc.
