Windows 10: Tips/Solutions For Common Windows 10 Issues

Microsoft is thinking about the year 2050 already, while we're still struggling with 2021. This all sounds good of course, but the problem is our current devices aren't yet ready for 2050.


I believe most of the issues plaguing Windows 10 boil down to the OS' attempts to be extremely flexible. Windows 10 is always trying to think smart and do all sorts of things in the background for us: updating multiple apps at once, predicting opportune moments to install system updates without user intervention, and introducing all sorts of stand-alone services and frameworks to prepare for the future invasion. There's going to be a whole lot of errors to iron out with such an ambitious/futuristic OS.


To avoid running into those errors, don't call out those smart features unnecessarily: update your apps one at a time, restrict system updates options in the settings, take care with highly integrated services...


Basically, whenever performance is crucial, opt for 'single task' features that don't run in the background or keep you out of the loop.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
