Windows 10: Title Bar Text / Buttons Colour Mismatch

With certain accent colours (typically ones that are picked automatically based on the desktop background), I get the following problem in title bars:





Seems to only affect windows which have those buttons in the top-left corner. On programs without this, such as Notepad, the text is white.

Anyone know why, or how to fix it?

Title Bar Colours

In the Windows Registry, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM
in the right pane , create a new DWORD (32-bit Value) and name it AccentColorInactive
either copy the color from 'AccentColor' or enter your desired color in hexadecimal format.
Close the Windows Registry, interact with any new open window to see the immediate effects.





(If you have windows with borders, such as with 'AeroLite' Theme, the borders will dim, text may dim and buttons will loose their color and opacity but the title bar color itself will remain undimmed.)

 

Explorer title bar text color too bright grey

The High contrast settings are changing all colours in a direction that I do not like at all.

It's for business and I try to stay more or less close to the Windows 7 settings.

The result with the original too bright title bars is:





After setting the AccentColorInactive to b8b4b0 (BGR), the result is:





Now you can now see 2 problems that I have:

• The File Explorer title bar gets a poor text contrast, while the Notepad title bar is OK. This is related to the presence of buttons in the File Explorer title bar.
  
  The text colour in the File Explorer title bar is the same as without the grey background.
  
  In the Notepad window the text colour gets darker than the original color.
  
  The addition of colors seems to happen in a different way.
  
• The Windows 10 Settings window has a blue title bar when active and a still a white title bar when inactive.
  
  The AccentColorInactive parameter does not set that color.

It would be nice if Microsoft could improve the colour experience.

Just an additional button "Show color on inactive title bar".

Jmarco0921 Sorry...My mistake, it's the "TITLE BAR" that I want to colour, not the Task Bar. There is no
option in Settings by which I can colour in the Title Bar. All the answers I have found to colour the Title Bar are either very confusing, or haven't worked.
