Windows 10: TMP Files keep appearing every second on my temporary file folder that are all 20-30gbs in...

Every 2 minutes or so I check how much i have storage left one minute there 30gbs left and then another theres 500 mbs. All in a very short amount of time too. I delete all of the temp files i can but they dont stop coming.

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you open the Environment variables, in the top section (User Variables) TEMP and TMP should be set to this:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp

And in the bottom section (System Variables) that would be set to this:

C:\Windows\Temp

Typically Windows and your installed software would constantly product temporary files, and you can manually delete the contents of the Temp folders from time to tie, when you select everything in the temp folder, there will be a few files that cannot be deleted because they are in use.

Where else are you seeing that temporary files are being created and not deleted?

To check your values -> in Cortana type 'Advanced System Settings' (click on the best matched results)- Advanced Tab - Click 'Environmental Variables' button - make sure your TEMP and TMP show the variables above.

After changing the 'Environmental Variables' (Rarely necessary)->Reboot.

Run a Disk Cleanup with all the boxes checked in the final dialog box. (a good process to run occasionally, even if you are not making changes in 'Environmental Variables').
