    Web Protection Provider?

I have Avast Premium on my Dell G5 550 laptop, Windows 10. The Windows Security app indicates no issues, no action needed for any of category. Yet on the "Security Providers" tab, under the Web protection category, it says "no providers". How can this be? Naturally, I'm assuming i need a provider for web protection, right, i mean why would it be listed as a category if it wasn't important? So, I activate, with highest restrictions available, all security measures available in both Avast and Windows. All for naught. Still showing no providers. To top it off, i click on "Find security apps in Microsoft Store", assuming, of course, this will show me a list of web protection providers to choose from. Instead, the response from the Store is "no apps available". ****? OK, let's just assume there's some miscommunication issues at play here. (Nothing new to the tech industry, right. After all, why do you think they all refuse to make any meaningful investment in call centers? Because they've created products that are such **** ups, it would bankrupt them trying to rectify all problems, much less deal with irate consumers. Ergo, community forums. The blind leading the blind. Until someone stumbles over a solution--we pray.) So, we're left wasting time having to review the basics, asking questions we should never have to ask: What the hell is Microsoft's definition of a "web protection" provider, and where can i get one?

Any web protection for browser for windows defender?

Using Windows 10 Home, you won't be able to use the Sandbox feature of WDAG.

But you can still use the embedded Windows Defender Browser Protectionin Edge.

In Chrome, you will need to install an extension:
    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/windo...

Unfortunately, there is no extension for Firefox yet.

Windows Defender Browser Protection will check it against a constantly updated list of malicious URLs known to Microsoft.

If the malicious link matches one on the list, Windows Defender Browser Protection will show a red warning screen letting you know that the web page you are about to visit is known to be harmful, giving you a clear path back to safety with one click.
