    To unlock Windows, you need to press the combination CTRL + ALT + DELETE.


    I found on the Internet how to turn it off, and it works as it should, BUT, after rebooting, I again need to press this combination until I turn it off again.I disable this combination in Local Security Policy -> Local Policies -> Security Options -> Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL + ALT + DELETE, and set the value to Enabled initially it is Disabled. I tried to disable it from netplwiz as well, but there the "Require users to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE" field is grayed out. I also tried to change the value in the registry, but it also does not help, after a reboot the value is re

    I've tried it with both the built in keyboard and an external keyboard.

    I also forgot to mention this is an intermittent issue. CTL ALT DELETE to unlock works most of the time. It seems like when my laptop stays locked a "long" time, like over the weekend, this issue appears.

    Hi Diane,

    Conflicts with the user account settings is one of the possible reasons why the secure sign-in option is enabled on your computer even if the box in the settings is not checked. I would suggest that you enable and disable the
    Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete. You can follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows key + R.
    • Type control userpasswords2 or netplwiz and press the Enter key.
    • Click the Advanced tab.
    • Under Secure sign-in, check the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox.
    • Click Apply.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Open the same settings again and uncheck the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox and follow the
      steps 5 and 6.
