    Toast Notification In Windows 10 not working after Windows Defender automatic scans


    Hi,

    I have updated Windows10 1909 Home x64 build 18363.900 original version installed by Acer in February 2020 and have no 3rd party AV installed.

    I used to get notifications from action center when the 4 scheduled WD scan tasks were completed but not anymore. I get a WD Toast Notification if I click on Start Maintenance in Automatic Maintenance app, Security and Maintenance, Control panel and also in Task Scheduler if I run the WD scheduled scan task manually. I get Toast notifications from all other features, I have enabled notifications for all apps, I checked Security Center in the registry, all 3 notification options are enabled. The 4 WD tasks run daily at random times with 0x0 results confirmed by a message in Security Center Virus & Threat Protection, but no toasts. Tailored Experience is on as well as Cloud, Tamper protection and Ransomware in Security Center.

    Anyone has an idea how to get Toast to work with the WD automatic scans?

    Ah yes, of course, almost forgot about that *Big Grin Toast Notification In Windows 10 not working after Windows Defender automatic scans :D
    Yeah, the scan happens daily, defender will give you scan reports at the end of the week in your Notification Center.

    Windows 10 Anniversary Update Issues

    Problems with W10 Anniv auto update:

    Mom's: (x58 Xeon 5677) Windows Defender was not turned back on automatically (it was "on" in the 1511 edition) and she had a Trojan. Full system scan to eradicate.
    Her Epson printer was knocked off, had to uninstall by Device Manager pull USB cable and reconnect cable. W10 did the rest.

    Step-mom's: (HP pre built) Windows Defender not turned back on by default. Her USB Seagate Expansion Drive 2Tb was offline so all backup routines were halted. Had to rerun backup plan. Had her do a full virus scan.

    Step-dad's: (Dell Optiplex tweaked upgrades) Windows Defender not turned back on by default. Full Scan.
