Windows 10: Today, one of the three accounts in the MAIL App said I needed to update the info

So I went to Outlook, logged in on that account, changed the PW.
Then I went back to the MAIL App, which still showed the "Attention Required" but nothing I clicked anywhere would allow me access to the settings for that account.
So I deleted it, and was going to re-add it.
I clicked on "Manage accounts" then "Add account" that box opened up blank, with no options showing.

I had previously clicked the "Fix Account" thing and watched the dots scroll around for more than a 1/2 hr.

So now, looks like M$ has botched another thing and I will be back to opening my three email accounts in three browsers

That is unless someone has some good advice or tech support I hope?

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

Yes, once 2-factor authentication is enabled you should then create the app specific password & enter it instead of the account password.

I went this route and added passwords for yahoo mail. I might try this method above to get gmail to buck up! *Tongue

YAHOO MAIL FIX
2FA needs to be enabled which it already was and just follow these steps below.

1. In yahoo mails account security, click on manage app passwords.




2. After selecting other app and entering the new app name in the text box




3. Now, in Windows 10 mail app, add this type of account.




4. In Windows 10 mail app, enter your details and the password generated by step 2.




Fully functional mail app again.



GMAIL FIX

Now similar steps to setting up Gmail. Here I'll only go through the Gmail steps as Windows Mail App setup is the exact same.
