Windows 10: Too many CD/DVD drives shown in File Explorer

    Too many CD/DVD drives shown in File Explorer


    I have one DVD drive, with no DVD in it, yet File Explorer shows three drives, each with files in them. How do I get rid of the two phantom drives and get rid of the phantom files in the real DVD drive?

    Thank you for reply to my question.The problem is not solved.

    Already in my reporting the problem I said that in the device manager itself CD/DVD ROM drive is not shown and hence it is not possible to expand the CD/DVD ROM drive and do the things as told by you.

    Problem in a nutshell: CD/DVD ROM drive is not shown in the device manager

    CD/DVD ROM drive icon is not there in file explorer

    I will be grateful for further assistance

    Getting my optical drives back after upgrading to Windows 10

    After upgrading to Windows 10 my optical drives vanished. They register on bootup, but are not shown in File Explorer. How do I get by CD and DVD drives back?

    Too many CD/DVD drives shown in File Explorer

    You probably mounted an ISO file and Windows mounted as a virtual drive. Just Right click on it->Eject
