Windows 10: Too much virtual memory on a 6GB ram PC

Hi, I'm Sakib from Bangladesh. I'm using Windows 10 for years. I'm spotting a thing, Windows is automatically generating 11.8GB of virtual memory on my pc with 6GB of physical memory. And it looks like it is slowed my pc down a little. It even takes a minimum of 5 seconds to load the menu to refresh the desktop. Boot-up is a little slow. Also eaten up a lot of space on my 120GB SSD, almost all of my programs are installed on my second storage device. Gaming performance drained a lot. Should I low it down? And how much should I allow the amount of virtual memory? Here are the screenshots given

How to use HoloLens Emulator on 6GB or Smaller Ram memory for PC/Laptop

Hey guys,

if you trying to develop apps on Visual Studio 2015 for to test HoloLens Emulator that Requires 8GB Ram only, there's a solution in bypassing the 8GB Ram requirement.

The solution is to create "Virtual Ram" for example I have created my own extra 6GB in tricking my computer that I've got total of 12GB Ram. But what Virtual Ram does it takeover some of your memory space within your "Local C Hardrive or Local D Hardrive"

1. Open Windows Settings and click System

2. Click About

3. Open System Info





4. Open Advanced System Settings





5. Click Advanced then open Settings... under
Performance you will get Virtual Memory option, the highlighted colour green represents my current virtual GB Ram I have created. To create your own virtual memory just click
Change.





6. You have opened Virtual Memory, make sure you untick the box for
Automatically then click your "C Local Drive", choose
Custom Size then set your initial and max size to 5839 (However, make sure you don't go higher and please play around it because you may not need extra 6GB or more, just add little of 2000MB - 4000MB for Initial/Max) Once
you decided, then click Set, Ok, Ok and you have to restart your computer.

Your right but that was before Win 7 x64. Win 7 does memory manage better than Vista however there are times that I am using more than 2GB of Virtual memory even with my 6GB of Ram.

You should set virtual memory to 2 X RAM size = 6GB for best performance

If you are running the 64bit version of Windows 10, you should really consider investing in another stick of RAM to limit the amount of read/write to your hard drive and for better system performance . . .
