Windows 10: top bar--fast access to current documents

Windows used to have a feature where I created a folder on my desktop, named it "top bar" then dragged the folder to the top of my screen and "pinned" it there. I could then drag documents I was using frequently to that "top bar" folder and an icon of the document would appear really a shortcut to where the document was located..


This was such a great feature, saving me a ton of time in access documents. I know I can pin a folder to Quick Access, but that is not the same as immediate access to a document.


How do I do this now in Windows 10?

Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Right click on the file or folder.
• Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

• Open the quick access.
• Select the Desktop option.
• Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

Firefox expanding to fill entire screen, no bar, drop down access

Fixed! Yay! Thank you both! After you suggested I put my cursor at top, even though I did not get access to everything, I went and pressed everything visible I could and one of them was the three bars at right where there was a full screen toggle!!!! Done. Thanks! Happy weekend!

Please let us know, what happens when you try to pin the folder to task bar?

I suggest you follow the below steps and check if it works:

Create a toolbar for the folder:

• 
  Right-click on the Taskbar.
  
• 
  Click on Toolbars and on
  New toolbar.
  
• 
  Browse to the folder and click Select
  Folder.
  

If the issue still persists, try to copy the folder into different and follow the above steps.
