Windows 10: Toshiba external hard drive not showing up in windows 10

Hi,


I am trying to access my external hard drive on my laptop with windows 10 but it doesn't appear on devices and drives. I have had a look at the other forums for help but nothing has worked so far. I tried updating the drivers but they were up to date. I had a look at my disk management and this is what I see. It seems the hard drive is recognised but I can't access it to try and change the drive letter. It is strange because it works fine on my Mac book. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, connect the external hard drive to the system and check whether the device is shown in Device Manager.

Trouble with Toshiba external hard drive and Windows 10

Greetings to all!

I have a Toshiba MK3252GSX (HDDR320E03X) 320GB external USB hard drive.

After upgrading to Windows 10 (64-bit) about a month ago, the hard drive is no longer recognized.

The hard drive is plug and play, it worked flawlessly on Windows 7 (64-bit).

I've searched the net and several forums for solutions, but to no avail.

Device Manager shows the hard drive when I select "show hidden devices".

I've tried updating the drivers, and uninstalling and reinstalling them.

There is no option to "roll back driver".

I've also tried the Disk Management feature, hoping to change the drive letter, but it doesn't appear in the list of drives.

If anyone could guide me, I'd be grateful!

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.
