Windows 10: Toshiba Notebook touchpad no longer works - driver disappeared.

Hi My touchpad in Toshiba Notebook stopped working recently and in the Device Manager there no longer seem to be a driver for the touchpad. How do I get/download a new driver or fix the problem? Also, I am running windows 8.1.

Touchpad not working for windows 10.


I had the problem on my Toshiba T135 notebook which has a Synaptics touchpad. Initially after the update to Windows 10 the touchpad was fully functional, but after this latest round of Microsoft updates the ability to scroll with the touchpad had disappeared. Found that the Synaptics driver had been updated to v19.0.10. Jumped through all the same hoops as others in this thread also without any success. Finally downloaded and installed the most recently posted Synaptics v19.0.14.31 driver (tcg0006700g.exe) from the Toshiba support website. That fixed the problem for me and now all of the features appear to work.

 

Synaptics TouchPad Driver - Failed to Install

I am using a Toshiba Satellite L50t-A.
The Synaptics Touchpad works OK and the driver was installed by Windows 10 (on 04.09.16) and works(ver 19.0.16.3)
Subsequently there looks to be an update to that on 08.10.16 clearly it's a Toshiba customisation component.
That would also have come from Windows 10 updates.

Diagnostics settings are set to "Enhanced"

There is no driver from Toshiba, however you probably know of the Toshiba System drivers list for Windows 10.
I think these are the relevant ones:
Toshiba - System Settings, System Driver, Function Key.
Downloadable from the Toshiba Website.

In the Start-up Tab of the Task Manager there is one for the Synaptics TouchPad and several Toshiba ones.

In my old Windows 8.1 Driver list there is a version 17.0.8.21 dated 2014 from Toshiba, not ever used.
I would steer clear of any Driver Updater or Revo.

 

Touchpad no longer working on my Samsung Notebook Odyssey

I've been looking all over the place for an answer to this problem so I figured that I would try here as a last resort. Basically, my touchpad no longer works. When I plug in a USB mouse, my cursor is brought back. The driver for the touchpad is the latest
version except it brings up an "This device cannot start Code 10) message. I've tried deleting the driver, disabling it, and even reinstalling another touchpad driver. I've checked the BIOS, everything is fine there. It seems to be an issue with the driver,
except I cannot find any drivers online made for a Samsung Notebook Odyssey. I'm not quite sure what else to try, most likely if you're thinking of it I've probably tried it and to no avail.
