Windows 10: TOTAL PANIC - New OneDrive Personal has things messed up.

I took the bit and downloaded the new BACK-UP program from Micro-Soft. I read the the 32 bit program don't back up on a chat.But now - I can't access my download files, Outlook files pst and other. I looks like it is still in the process of backing up. I'm I LOCK-UP out until the entire sync to OneDrive is done ?Look like the program is trying to place file in my VAULT. It was locked. I unlocked it. Do all back-ups default to VAULT? Is there anywhere to read how in the world this system works?

OneDrive Personal Vault corrupt on Windows 11 Error Code: 0x8004100e

I already did that. A couple of times. Most recently, as follow-on steps to your recommendation to delete my Personal Vault permanantly:

1. Followed your steps to permanently delete Personal Vault on OneDrive web
   
2. On my laptop:
   
   1. Disabled OneDrive backups
      
   2. Unlink this PC
      
   3. Uninstalled OneDrive application
      
   4. Deleted OneDrive folder
      
   5. Rebooted
      
   6. Reinstalled OneDrive
      
   7. Logged back in and retried Personal Vault - same error
      

 

OneDrive is hijacking Win10 users

I have recently installed Win 10 1803 on a new PC. By default the system use my OneDrive folder to contain documents.

This is a very intrusive and inconsiderate move as a user's document folder can contain lots of files and easily break one's free OneDrive quota. It totally messed up my OneDrive use behavior and I have to take extra steps to move my user folder away from
OneDrive.

I'm not going to use OneDrive for personal file storage and moving to alternative services in future.

What's funny is: I spent a few minutes to find the "OneDrive" topic in the forum's category list and failed. It seems no one has a clue what's happening to this service...
