Windows 10: Touble with two updates cumulative updates

I have two updates available, both require restarting the computer: 2023-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems KB5028185 and 2023-07 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 KB5028851 After downloading and restarting I had the following errors: Faulting application name: svchost.exe_hns, version: 10.0.22621.1, time stamp: 0x6dc5c2a5 Faulting module name: hostnetsvc.dll, version: 10.0.22621.1928, time stamp: 0x2d62f4d6 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000005eabf Faulting process id: 0x0xBB4 Fa

Microsoft controversially brings cumulative updates to W7 & W8.1

i think they had a special win7 updated edition in may... in fact i thought they were supposed to be going cumulative in may, i even saw such an update!

 

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

True. Anyone remembers how long it took to update vanilla Windows 7 with all updates released just 6 months later. It took ages even on high end systems. Windows 10 with cumulative takes like few minutes a year after vanilla was released.
