Windows 10: Touch keyboard keeps popping up when I touch the screen

I have a touch computer. Since installing Windows 11, the touch keyboard keeps popping up whenever I touch the screen into a text box, even though a keyboard is connected to the computer.I have already tried the other steps proposed in different forums and instruction videos, including the steps described here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/prevent-the-touch-keyboard-from-appearing-e2b05375-908d-45ec-b7f7-729349a10c7a#ID0EBD=Windows_11.It is getting extremely annoying to have to close it manually every time it also closes once I strike a key on my keyboard.Thanks for your help.

Touch screens

I can do 60 words per minute on my phone, perhaps more now as I've got used to the phone. ( htc desire z, using the stock onscreen keyboard)

Touch screen + predictive text I recon I could equal my keyboard typing speed. Maybe beat it depending on how advance the predictions are.

( hard to use predictive software on traditional keyboards as there is no way to quickly choose the suggested word, where as touch screen keyboards can have the suggested words appear above the function keys)

 

Touch (On-Screen) Keyboard Question

I've inherited a Lenovo All-In-One computer and I'm in a jam with Touch Keyboard all scrunched up to the left side of the screen.
Not being used to the touch screen experience on something other than my iPhone I have no idea how to move it to the bottom of the screen and make it look normal. On a further investigation it appears that the regular OSK appears OK but this keyboard was the one Windows 8.1 and/or Lenovo had installed and it keeps popping up scrunched and unusable at the most inopportune times, e.g. when uninstalling software. Help!!

I have an old tablet pc, motion computing C5. When I click the keyboard button in the taskbar,
the touch screen keyboard comes up. Problem is its the handwriting option, not the default qwerty keyboard.
any ideas how to get it back to the default???

And it won't remember they last keyboard I used
