Windows 10: Touch keyboard layout is wrong and different from On-Screen keyboard

I recently upgraded my Surface Pro to Windows 11. There is one virtual keyboard issue that I cannot seem to be able to resolve. I reported this to Microsoft, but I have not heard anything back, so maybe it is just me doing something wrong...The problem was not present in Windows 10 and it only occurs when I switch to "French Canada - Canadian French" keyboard layout.The "On-Screen Keyboard" accessible via Start Menu is not affected as the proper keys are displayed in the right place:However, the "Touch Keyboard" accessible by clicking icon in tray area of touch PCsis not showing the righ

This suggests to me that you are using the wrong "keyboard language" for your keyboard, and that therefore you first step would be to determine exactly what language keyboard you have. Possibly have a look at Windows Keyboard Layouts - Globalization | Microsoft Docs.

(The age of any laptop capable of running Windows 10 at all should not be a problem as regards keyboard layout)

 

Dell Vostro 1310 Keyboards Come with Different and Incorrect Keyboard Layout in UK

on normal keyboards the keys start shift-z and end /-shift.

Whats wrong with that layout, is that touch typers are boned. UK keyboards have a different layout to US/aus keyboards, but it seems they're cross-shipping and people are getting the wroung countries models... and the moved Z key is new for either one anyway.
