Windows 10: Touch Keyboard narrowed since updating to 2H20. Any way to revert?

Hey all. I just updated to 2H20 last night and so far, so good. I have a small issue that I noticed immediately. On my updated system, the Touch Keyboard is now “squished”. At first I thought it was something I did but I checked everything and then fired up another system (not updated running 1909) and then it became clear.

Has anyone else run into this or have any insight as to what can be done to revert the keyboard to fill the width of the screen?

Touch keyboard pops up at login

If the above steps didn't work, we suggest that you disable the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service. Please follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Type Services, and then press Enter.
• On the right pane, look for Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service. Double-click on it.
• Locate the Startup Type drop down, and change it to Disabled.
• Click on Apply button to save changes.
• Click on OK button to close the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service
  window.

Touch Keyboard Issues after Updates

Hi,

It is possible that the settings of the touch keyboard is having an issue and that can be the reason why it flickers. As an initial troubleshooting step, we recommend setting up the touch keyboard in "window mode" and change it back to "full screen mode"
to refresh its settings. To do this, follow these steps:

• Access the touch keyboard.
• On the upper left part of the touch keyboard, click the keyboard settings icon.
• On the second row, select the second option.
• Close the access the touch keyboard, and then re-open it.
• Check if it will flicker. If it did not flicker, access the touch keyboard settings icon again.
• On the second row, select the first option.
• Close the access the touch keyboard again, and then re-open it.
• Check if it will flicker.

Touch Keyboard Issues

I reset my PC and installed all the latest updates. Currently on 1903

I am using Excel in tablet mode with the touch keyboard. I select "&123" to get to the 10-key pad. Previously i could use 10-key, hit return to go down a line in Excel and keep using 10-key. Now it resets back to ABC mode every time i return a line.

I was unable to find any settings that would control this in Windows or Excel. Does anyone have any suggestions?

***UPDATE***

A temporary fix is to edit the registry settings and add a DWORD entry:

1. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TabletTip\1.7
2. Right click -> New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value
   1. Name: DisableNewKeyboardExperience
   2. Value: 1
3. Sign out and back in.

I found this solution from an
article over a year old as a way to revert the keyboard to the older style. The numeric keypad stays while using it in excel. I wasn't using the touch keyboard then so i don't have that much familiarity with what the differences are. I'm interested in a
solution that doesn't require reverting it to an old style keyboard if anyone knows of one.
