Windows 10: Touch Pad Not Working Properly

OS:- Windows10 64bit Version 19042.630



Problem:-

My Touch Pad Suddenly start working in weird manner like I am dragging my mouse pointer from wet mud . Sometimes it gets froze at a position and after a while it continue working normally . It often happens when I keep my mouse pointer ideal for sometime.

Note: Externally Connected USB Mouse works fines , and when the touch pad troubles me the touch pad buttonsRight Click , Left Click works fine and it doesn't have any problem



My Trails:-

1 This problem solves temporarily when I reset whole PC . After all the windows Updates and HP Support Assistant updates are done , the problem again raises after few days of normal use.

2 I manually went to Device Manage to update the "Mics and Pointing Devices" , when I click on Update Driver , It shows me that it has its best possible derives and forward me to Windows Update to check the updates. It doesn't solves my problem.




3I have also have tried to install some other Manufacturer's drivers like Microsoft's once but it didn't solve my problem permanently .



4I went to HP official website and entered my serial number to download the drivers manually if was served with lot of options of touch pads. Even though I managed my patience and tried each one of them but never the less none of them gave me permanent results , a few didn't even support my OS I tried the next driver . A few worked but the happiness was not for long , again after few days it raises the same problem when I am at work.




5Reseting the Synaptics Touch Pad Devices , Made the problem even Worse and made me to restore using System Restore Point.



6 I tried to freeze the drivers to which the mouse pointer is working properly by not allowing the windows to automatically update the drivers by changing the Settings in advance settings. But the problem got solved for a few more days compared to other solutions, I expect a permenant solution for it.

Expectations:-

As the problem solves after hard reset of the PC , I assume it's not a hardware problem and its a driver problem.

I also have tried the same touch pad in different OS like Ubuntu and it works smoothly there.



Please Help me out From this Problem , If u want any other information releated to this problem please mention it.

Touch pad not working. I have tried everything.

I have a semi new Lenovo laptop ThinkPad T450s with a new hard drive. After installing Windows 10 the touch pad doesn't work. It did however work before. I have spent all day trying to read up on how I may solve this to no avail. Therefore I am writing my own help request. Here is a list of things I have tried;


Not Fn + F5
tried updating drives
not in device manager
not in control panel - mouse properties doesn't give me touch pad option (picture 2) nor is it anywhere in the control panel under deivices to be found
Activated in BIOS
I tried taking some steps I read online in the Registration Entries but files seemed to be missing (perhaps here is the problem) but only ended up making my USB mouse to stop working so that didn't do the trick.
Synaptic pointing device is under View and show hidden devices.
Not sure what to do about the yellow exclamation mark but it says error "This device is not present, is not working properly or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)"

touch pad not working properly

I use my touch pad to move the cursor. When I stop typing for a few seconds and then return to type the cursor has moved and my fingures had not touched the pad. Without realizing it I'm now typing in the middle of a previously typed sentence. Help

I have tried the steps you suggested. It showed no issues, except to restart my PC. At the point when I performed these steps, I didn't have the issue that I reported - namely, not being able to use touch-pad gestures. Maybe I should try this when the touch-pad
gestures stop working.
