Windows 10: Touch screen numeric keypad/keyboard stopped working after Win 11 22H2 update

My HP Elite x2 G8 tablet just got updated to Windows 11 22H2 22621.819 via the normal Windows Update channel and now the touch-screen numeric keypad/keyboard for entering my account PIN on boot-up, works erratically or not at all. It usually just hangs after I enter the first 2 or 3 digits. I have to call up the on-screen keyboard via the Accessibility icon or use a hardware keyboard. The issue doesn't happen with 21H2. I tried a completely fresh install of 22H2 with just latest updates and default settings but the problem persists. My options are either to live with it or roll back to

To assist you with your issue with numeric keypad, ensure that the Num Lock key is enabled. This key is usually located nearby or on the numeric keypad. Press the
Num Lock key and test it to determine if the keypad is working.

Use the following steps to resolve issues when either the numeric keypad does not work, but rest of the keyboard works correctly, or when the whole keyboard does not work but the numeric keypad works correctly:

NOTE:

Some keyboard functions might stop working when accidentally pressing and holding the
Shift key or the Num Lock key for several seconds or when these keys are pressed several times.

1. In Windows, search for and open Control Panel.

2. In Control Panel, click Ease of Access.

3. In the Ease of Access Center, click Make the keyboard easier to use.

4. Uncheck the option for Turn on Mouse Keys, and then click
OK.

i have 2 pcs with win 10, and with italian keyboard

for one pc when i use numeric keypad dot I print dot, for the other i print comma

i set italian keyboard

i can't understand

 

The touch keyboard is missing in the Windows 11 setup screens

Microsoft is aware of a known issue in Windows 11, version 22H2, that causes the touch keyboard to not appear in the Windows 11 setup screens after resetting Windows. Microsoft is currently working on a solution that will be released in an upcoming Windows update.

If you experience this issue, there are two options that will let you work around this issue. You can either:

1. Connect your device to a physical keyboard to complete Windows Setup, or
   
2. You can choose to shut down your device and restart Windows. The touch keyboard should appear after restarting.
