This is the error message I have about my HID compliant touch screen on a Dell laptop. The touch screen was working fine until the last windows update in late December. Now I can't get it to work. I am a teacher and need the touch screen to teach virtually. Please advise on what needs to happen.

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. Code 45

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

Let us know what are the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue.

Step 1: I suggest you to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Hardware and Devices troubleshooter
checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device
  options from the list.
• Click Next to run the
  Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.

Step 2: I suggest you to search for all the latest drivers for your device from the manufacturer's website, download, install them and check if it helps.

Touch Screen Suddenly Stopped Working

After upgrading to windows 10 creator version my touch screen stopped working. I have an all one inspiron Dell 2330. I can see the HID in the hidden devices, but the devise status shows these massages:

Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

 

Touch Screen stops working after restart. Notification area of task bar shakes when touch screen won't work

I have tried over and over to fix this. Every morning when I restart the laptop from sleep mode, the touch screen doesn't work. So I open up Device Manager and Human Interface Devices. The touch pad is there on the list, but not the touch screen and in
the lower task bar on the desk top, the notification area (volume, internet, power) is shaking from side to side, but not the date and time.

Usually after a minute or so of trying to get the touch screen to react, it suddenly reappears on the list, the shaking stops, and the touch screen works.

I have tried disabling the touch screen and then rebooting. No effect.

I have tried over and over to search for updated drivers, but always get the message that it is up to-date.

Earlier this year, the mother board failed and after being replaced, it crashed and could "not find boot device" so it had to be sent back to Dell where they wiped the hard drive clean and re-installed the business version of Windows 10, when I got it back
is when this issue began.

Sometimes the touch screen IS listed as a device on the list of Human Interface Devices with this message:

Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer

But then seconds later it IS working and this message appears:

This device is working properly.

How do I stop this!! I am trying to work from home and every single morning I've got to deal with this first. When it first began it was really bad with the ghost finger hitting the touch screen up and down the right hand third of the screen, making it
impossible to open anything without the ghost finger making unwanted changes.
