Windows 10: Touchpad does not work. Device Manager shows 12C HID Code 10

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 5406 2 in 1 laptop. I wanted to upgrade the Ram from 8GB to 16GB. I opened the bottom panel / cover of laptop to check the Ram Card specs. I disconnected the ribbon type cable for the battery connection and pressed on the power switch to ensure the system was full turned off. I then removed the existing Ram and took a photo of it. I then reinstalled the ram and connected the battery cable , I turned on the laptop and my touchpad is not working anymore. After googling for answers, I checked in Devise Manager in control panel and found 12C HID Code 10, I uninstalled it

For the last week I’ve been unable to use the touchpad on my laptop, going into Device Manager the lower 12C HID Device has a warning symbol on it.

Device status states “This device cannot start (Code 10)” followed by “A request for the HID descriptor failed”). After attempting to update the he driver and then disabling/enabling it failed I decided to Uninstall and then Reinstall the device, this worker for a day until the issue again persisted.

The touchpad had issues like this before but never this long or serious, and it’s with the same Code 10 issue. As well I am unable to update the driver as it says that the “best drivers” already installed is the other 12C HID device.

I need help with this, as the laptop I am using is used for school and although it has a touchscreen it’s incredibly inconvenient to use.
