  1. Touchpad driver uninstalled

Hi, I am using dell inspiron 5410 laptop, and I was facing some issues with my touchpad, and by mistake I uninstalled my dell touchpad driver from device manager in my laptop, and now my touchpad has stopped working completely. Moreover, the touchpad settings has also got removed from my laptop and I am not able to see it under Bluetooth and devices as it used to be there. I am also not able to download the driver from dell website as there is no driver showing to be installed. Please someone help me regarding this.

    :)

  2. How do you uninstall chipset drivers?

I'm installing a new mobo so I need to uninstall the intel 865g drivers to make way for the P35 drivers.

Can't find any uninstall options in add/remove programs and intel chipset inst listed in driver cleaner.

Any suggestions? *Confused Touchpad driver uninstalled

  3. Touchpad drivers uninstall by themself?

    Hi Radiiyo,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

It's highly unlikely for touchpad drivers to uninstall themselves spontaneously. More often, this issue could be caused by various factors, such as system updates, conflicts with other software, or driver corruption. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

    - Make sure you are downloading the latest touchpad drivers directly from Acer's website for your specific Aspire 5 model. Avoid generic or third-party drivers which may not be fully compatible.

    - After installing the Acer drivers, restart your laptop and check Device Manager to see if the touchpad device is listed under Mice and other pointing devices. If it disappears after restarting, there may be a deeper issue.

    - System File Checker (SFC) Scan: There might be system file corruption causing the issue. Running an SFC scan can help fix any corrupted system files. Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support

    - Third-party software conflicts: Some third-party software, especially utilities or drivers, may cause conflicts. If any third-party drivers/security antivirus-related software is installed, try uninstalling them.

    - Event Viewer: Check the Windows Event Viewer for any errors or warnings related to the touchpad drivers. This might give you more insight into what's causing the uninstallation.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there might be an underlying hardware problem with the touchpad or your computer. In that case, you should contact Acer support or visit an authorized service center to get the issue diagnosed and fixed.

Let me know if any of those suggestions help resolve your touchpad drivers uninstalling themselves on your Acer Aspire 5!

    Your Sincerely

    touchpad driver update

    Hi Chandrahasan,

Incompatible device drivers are known to operate against the method that Windows 10 follows. We suggest that you run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to scan your computer, identify the problem, and attempt to fix the issue automatically. To run the
    troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    • Right-click on the Start icon and select Control Panel.
    • Type troubleshooting in the search bar and click on
      Troubleshooting
      .
    • Click on Hardware and Sound > Hardware and Devices.
    • Follow the steps from the wizard to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue persists, uninstall the touchpad driver, then follow these steps to check if the issue is driver related:

    • Right-click on the name of your PC at the top of the list of devices in
      Device Manager
      .
    • Select Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the device driver, or download and install the latest version from the manufacturer’s website.

Let us know how it turns out.
