Windows 10: Touchpad gestures functioning that I can't find anywhere in windows settings

• When I bring my tap one finger down on the top of the touchpad, momentarily pause, and without lifting it up back up, slide it across to the left and then lift it up, the page I am on will go to the next page if there is a next page for the tab I am on
• When I do the same thing as above but slide my finger to the right, it will go to the previous page if there is a previous page for the tab I am on

These gestures are NOT based on the web browser I am using. Not only do they function in all browsers I use, they even work in File Explorer. I'll also note that I vaguely remember it once being the opposite way sliding to the left resulted in going to the previous page and vice versa, although I'm unsure if this memory is accurate.


I want to turn these gestures OFF. It is VERY FRUSTRATING to be doing something on a tab, accidentally use the gesture, and be brought to another page which cannot be stopped unless the webpage itself is customizes a warning changing the page. However, I cannot FIND these gestures anywhere, either online or in Windows settings, including in Advanced feature settings.


I am using an Alps Pointing-device and I did not find text about having a precision touchpad when I went to the touchpad in settings, although if I search for "precision touchpad" the drop-down will list "change precision touchpad settings" which if clicked, links simply to the default touchpad page, again without the text about having precision touchpad if that helps. I am using Windows 10.

The touchpad gesture settings depends on the model of the laptop that you are using.



For us to investigate more on this, please share the details requested below:

• Were you able to find the gesture settings earlier?
  
• What is the make and model of the laptop that you are using?
  
• What is the version of Windows 10 that you are using currently? To check type
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  

However, as you have already tried updating the Touchpad drivers, I would suggest you to check if there any pending Windows updates on the computer. You can navigate to
Start >> Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> Check for updates.

ASUS Win 10 touchpad gestures

Hi

I can't find a way to turn on touchpad gestures.

Have previously been able to use

Have tried updating/repairing drivers

In settings there is no option only a link to website about gestures.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

I can't use any touchpad gestures on my Windows 10 laptop.

I can't seem to use any touchpad gestures on my laptop when I upgraded to the Windows 10. And when I search it up on settings, I can't find anything to help me with it. Is this the same for you guys?
