Windows 10: Touchpad gestures not working after installing windows 11 on Dell vostro 3401

After installing Win 11 touchpad gestures not working on my Dell Vostro 3401. I can't find the driver installed. Dell call centre suggests that I should go back to windows 10, but that option is not available. Can someone please help me to locate and install requisite driver for touchpad. TIA

Dell Vostro touchpad gestures not working on Windows 10 -- but do work on any Linux distro

This has been bothering me more than I'd like to admit.

I have a Dell Vostro 3460 (exactly this one to be more specific) running Windows 10 Professional 64-bits, with the latest updates and proper drivers and software installed as far as I am aware of (but probably something is missing since I have this problem).

None of the touchpad gestures listed on the official Microsoft page are working, in fact, I can't even find the options they refer to in my settings page (besides the one to select an item which is the simplest one of all).

The gesture I wish to work is the simple scroll gesture with two fingers. This gesture, in particular, works fine on any Linux distro I have ever installed on this laptop, but Windows 10 doesn't recognize it. Having this gesture enabled would make my life overall 0.0017% easier.

Am I missing something here? Maybe I should be using another touchpad software/driver? Help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

1. Go to N501VW | ASUS Global Downloads
2. Download the latest ATK - ATKPackage driver
3. Download the latest TouchPad - ASUS Smart Gesture (Touchpad Driver)
4. Uninstall both the Touchpad driver and the Asus ATK package driver.
5. Reboot
6. First install ATKPackage driver (IMPORTANT to do this FIRST)
7. Reboot
8. Then install the TouchPad driver (may need to reboot)
9. Test if all is working as it should

I had this same issue with my Asus UX305 when I upgraded to Windows version 1803 and doing the above steps solved the issue for me.

Thanks. This procedure worked. Though, as noted in the conversation below, the current driver 4021 does not work with my configuration. I had a copy of 405 so I used that for the re-install and now touchpad is working again.

Something must have thrown it off so that I needed a re-install but the latest driver doesn't work.
