Windows 10: Touchpad is late to respond to my touch

I have a Dell Latitude E5470, I recently bought from Microsoft.In the beginning, the touchpad was fine, it would work just like any other touchpad. But since two weeks ago, whenever I use my touchpad, it doesn't work in the first couple seconds of me touching it then it suddenly starts working normally. I mean to say that it doesn't respond immediately to my touch like it should.To be more specific, this is constantly happening as in if I don't use the touchpad for a minute or so and then go back to it, it takes around 5 seconds of me moving my fingers on the touchpad before the cursor on the

I suggest you to update the touch drivers from device manager and restart the system and check if it helps.



To uninstall the touch drivers follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows + X key.
  
• 
  From the jump menu select Device Manager.
  
• 
  Go to Human Interface Devices.
  
• 
  Select the touch driver.
  
• Right click and select update.

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop


Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:

• start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
• windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
• various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
• device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.

Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.
