Touchpad no longer in the Device Manager after update windows 10 64 bit home edition

My Dell Alienware M17R3 touchpad no longer in the Device Manager. I lost my touchpad ability to pinch and/or magnify/scroll screen. Can't find a way to install the touchpad software. Dell no longer maintain this computer because they want to sell new ones. This is pretty sneaky and abusive.

    GPU-Z update loop (Windows 10 64-bit)

I don't have better steps - this is all, I have nothing to add.

Maybe it is worth noting issue was on Windows 10 Enterprise, build 14393.187, so maybe you should test on the same.
My other PCs have a different Windows 10 version - Pro, latest Insider Preview build from last week, and there is no such issue on those.
All are 64-bit edition of Windows 10.

This issue is not new. I have had same 1-2 years ago too, with older GPU-Z versions.

EDIT: And yes, I have Windows 10 UAC enabled and set to defaults. If you are using your Windows PCs with UAC off, you likely cannot reproduce this issue. *Smile Touchpad no longer in the Device Manager after update windows 10 64 bit home edition :)

Touchpad not working, error code 10 in device manager

    Hello,

We realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Touchpad not working in Windows 10. We will certainly help you.

A Code 10 error is generated in Device Manager in one of the following situations:

    • Device Manager can't start the device.
    • One of the drivers that the device needs does not start.
    • Device Manager has insufficient information to recognize the error that is bubbled up by the device driver.
Note: In this situation, the Code 10 error can be a very generic message that indicates some kind of unspecified driver or device problem.

The issue could also arise due to outdated drivers that might not be compatible with Windows 10. So, I would suggest you to keep checking your Windows updates not only important one but optional too. If any available try to install them
and see if it helps you to fix the issue.

First, try to install all of the Windows updates available and if issue persists, try to update the Touchpad drivers by following the steps provided in the article mentioned below.
