Windows 10: Touchpad NOT WORKING! Drivers missing, not in settings. Help me!

Hello I am a windows 10 user on an HP-14 cm0000 and my elan touchpad does not work at all. I recently clean installed brunch chrome OS as a way of speeding up my computer but ended up with an ever slowing touchpad and then it was just useless. After trying out several touchpad configuration settings with no success, I thought ok maybe it was the OS so I installed Ubuntu. During install I recieved an alert that one file contains an error. When I turned on the OS my touchpad was as if it was non existent not a trace of it in the settings, Looking through some websites and youtube videos for tuto

You could also check whether you have Advanced option enabled for Touchpad in BIOS.

My touchpad settings aren't present except for Taps setting. I don't know why I don't have them, other Windows 10 laptop at my home has them all. My windows version number is here:

My touchpad is working even though scrolling and zooming doesn't work for whatever reason, the PC is MSI-GS60 6QE and there is look of ELAN TouchPad driver screen:



I don't know if it is alright when those settings are missing, so that's why I ask as I would like to mess with them but unfortunately I can't.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps you finding the settings for Synaptics Touchpad.

• Press Windows + X keys, select Control Panel.
• Select Large view in Categories.
• Select Mouse and select Synaptics touchpad
  in the tabs and check if you can find the settings for it.
