Windows 10: Touchpad not working on Inspiron laptop

Hello all,While I was playing a game on my computer, the touchpad randomly stopped working and won't work. I can't find any touchpad settings on my device and have looked into the device manager but have found nothing. I tried every tip and trick I could find online but nothing seemed to work. I don't believe this is due to damage as this laptop is relatively new and was only damaged slightly once a few weeks ago dropped from 2 ish feet and part of the screen is slightly poped out. This previous damage did not immediately cause my trackpad to stop working so I don't think it's related. I don

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop


Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:

• start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
• windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
• various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
• device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.

Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.

inspiron 1545 laptop the rh click on the touchpad does not work and touchpad is not listed in the device manager

On my inspiron 1545 laptop the rh click on the touchpad does not work and the touchpad is not listed in the device manager the lh click does work as does the pad itself for moving the pointer. How can i solve this?

Since, the above steps did not help to fix the issue. Let’s try simple steps and check if this helps. I suggest you to go to the below link, download the Synaptics Touchpad driver and install it in compatibility mode.

  Right-click on the Synaptics Touchpad driver setup file and select Properties.

  Select Compatibility tab.

  Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.

If the issue still persist, I suggest you to contact to the computer manufacturer and check if they have released Synaptics Touchpad driver for Windows 10.
