Windows 10: Touchpad only works when I hold it down and when I release it it right clicks

hi,starting from just now my touchpad only works when I hold it down and drag it. And when I release it it right clicks, and can't left click.1. How do I fix this?2. I want to uninstall the touchpad driver and see if the computer automatically reinstalls it. In case it doesn't, what should I do?This is urgent, please respond quickthanks

Touchpad Left- and Right-Click Not Working

Please answer the following question:

Did you log in to the system using a standard user account or an administrator user account?

In order to make changes in Device Manager you MUST be logged on as an administrator.

After logging in to the administrator Account, I would suggest you first try updating the driver.

Follow the steps to update the Touchpad drivers:

• 
  Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.
  
• 
  Find the relevant Touchpad driver and right click on it.
  
• 
  Select Properties and then go to the Driver Tab. Click Update.
  
• 
  Restart the computer and check.
  

If this doesn't solve your problem, you have to uninstall and then reinstall your driver in compatibility mode.

• 
  Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.
  
• 
  Find the relevant Touchpad driver and right click on it.
  
• 
  Select Properties and then go to the Driver Tab. Click Uninstall.
  
• 
  Restart the computer and check.
  

Now go to your manufacturer's website and re install the driver in compatibility mode.

Right Click does't work on Touchpad (Synaptics)


I'm having a similar problem with the same touchpad. I can get a menu from a right click (left click is my primary click) but on a right click I can't get the pull down menu that allows me to rename, delete a file or the other options I am used to in windows. Any suggestions?

On Start , search for Device Manager, and select it from the list of results. Under Mice and other pointing devices, select your touchpad, open it, select the Driver tab, and select Update Driver. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, look for one on the device
manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

If those steps didn't work, try uninstalling your touchpad driver: open Device Manager, right-click (or press and hold) the touchpad driver, and select Uninstall. Restart your device and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

If that didn't work, try using the generic driver that comes with Windows. Here's how: in Device Manager, right-click (or press and hold) your touchpad driver > Update driver software... > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of
device drivers on my computer, select HID compliant mouse, select Next, and follow the instructions to install it.
