Windows 10: touchpad settings

updated from 7 to 10 and works good so far, changed settings in touchpad and
hit apply but when I shutdown and startup the touchpad settings have defaulted
back to the factory settings. how do I stop this default to factory settings?

Some of the most common causes of these problems are:

• 
  The touchpad has been enabled or disabled. The touchpad might have been mistakenly enabled or disabled. The touchpad can be enabled or disabled in several ways, including using keyboard shortcuts (key combinations on the keyboard), using Device
  Manager, or by using the touchpad settings in Control Panel.
  
• 
  The touchpad settings might be set incorrectly. Most touchpads have adjustable settings and these settings can make the touchpad function improperly if set incorrectly.
  

The sensitivity of the touchpad is set too high. If the sensitivity is set to high on the touchpad, any slight touch can cause the cursor to randomly jump to another location of the screen. To resolve this issue, lower the sensitivity setting
of the touchpad using the touchpad settings.

To correct these issues, enable or disable the touchpad or adjust its settings. To do this, follow the steps for your version of Windows:

• Open Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click
  Mouse.
• 
  Click the Touchpad tab, and then adjust the settings. On some PCs, the touchpad settings might be on the
  Buttons tab.

The touchpad is not displayed in the device manager list

Type the touchpad names into search till mouse and touchpad settings are shown, select it and open touchpad setting's by selecting additional mouse settings your touchpad panel should open. Once its reinstalled it will show in device manager under the
mouse.

 

Do you know which touchpad hardware you have example: Synaptics, Elantech, etc...?

That's a very recent driver but in any case you might wanna give this driver version a try to see if it fixes your problem: Scrolling on mouse pad doesn't work with Windows 10 update - Windows 10 Forums

 

i downloaded and extracted it to my documents and when I clicked on startup, a pop up. said,
synaptics device can not be found

 

I have the same problem. Have you solved that problem? If yes, how?

Hi! I also have a problem with my touchpad. When I tick all the boxes on Asus Smart Gesture, nothing happens and when I open it again all the boxes are empty again. I deleted the old driver and ATK Package. I downloaded the new ATK Package, rebooted and downloaded the latest driver for Smart Gesture and rebooted again. And still nothing has changed! I'm getting really annoyed and I'm even thinking about switching back to Windows 8.1...

Install the ASUS smart gesture v 2.2.8 The one available under Windows 8.1 OS. The version for Windows 10, 4.0.5 and 4.0.6 do not work correctly
