Windows 10: TouchPad single tap isn't working properly, I have to tap three or more times to make it work.

Description: Sometimes I am not able to click on the place even after hovering that place, I try to tap again and again but it gets lock/hold on the previous position, even the cursor is showing on that position.Example-1: Like if I am filling a form when I selects FirstName it gets selected and am able to type, but when I take cursor on the another block like LastName in the form, and I tap again and again it never selects that part. Either it takes more than three taps to select or never selects. Though right and left click are working properly on touchpad.Example-2: Like I am using an edit

Synaptics Touchpad not working properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10, my touchpad is not working properly any more. It's not that the touchpad isn't working at all or that I can't move or control the pointer. I say it isn't working properly because, occasionally, one single tap is read as multiple taps, and it has the same effect as if I had tapped about ten times.

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Touchpad tap configured as "mouse back button" not working in Explorer

I have a ThinkPad T480 laptop, using a Synaptics touchpad. I use the built-in Windows 10 touchpad settings to configure the tap functionality.

I configured the touchpad to function as a "mouse back button" when I tap it with three fingers. It works fine in Firefox but it does not work at all in Windows Explorer (i.e., browsing files on my computer.)

Touch pad scrolling works fine, even in Windows Explorer.

Interestingly, I can get it to work as long as Explorer isn't focused. So, for example, if I click an empty part of the taskbar and then put the cursor over an Explorer window - without clicking it - then I do a three-finger tap, Explorer successfully goes back.

One other interesting observation: if I set three-finger tap to something else (say, Action Center), it does work in Explorer. This suggests that the problem is not Explorer failing to recognize any taps - just SPECIFICALLY back-button tap functionality.

Also, I tried setting two- and four-finger taps as mouse back button functionality but it doesn't work for those either, meaning the problem is not specific to three-finger taps.

Any ideas?
