  1. touchscreen app - how do you disable a user from exiting the app on the touch screen?

I developed a touchscreen app for a Stand alone Windows 10 computer at a museum in Quebec City.

The computer sits in an enclosed box in front scale model of the City of Quebec. The client can launch the app, press f11 on the keyboard and can use app full screen on a 27" monitor. the key board is locked in a cabinet underneath the touchscreen computer so no museum visitor can access the computer

The purpose of the app is for users to the museum to explore the history of scale model and various sites depicted on the scale model.

The touchscreen app is complete and is being tested on the touchscreen computer, however, during testing the client has been able to exit the app and explore the rest of the computer - in two instances:

1 - arrows appear on the side of the screen and he can exit the app by swiping

2 - from the drop down menu in the app.

At the system level how the client or I disable the ability to exit the app other than by the keyboard?

    :)

Add disable touch to Action Center

Suggest adding a Disable/Enable Touch Screen to Windows 10 Action Center to make it quick and easy.

Many users use touch screen laptops as Desktop functionality only, but their touch pad driver does not

    support disabling pinch/zoom.

There are many descriptions on how to disable pinch/zoom, that do not work on devices without

    pinch/zoom disable.

Setting the mode to Desktop is no help.

The suggestion is an easy fix for a lack of driver functionality.

It would also help those with cracked screens where the touchscreen functionality is broken.

Some users reports it is difficult to disable the touchscreen in device manager due to the cracked screen,

while a simple click on the Action Center would be much easier and more efficient.

touchscreen app - how do you disable a user from exiting the app on the touch screen?

    vb.net touch screen app help

It is strange - the mouse does not do it. In fact, adding handlers for the same events with the parent flowcontrolpanel to the same subroutines used on the buttons causes the mouse to act as desired on both tiles and the parent object. It is only when actual touch comes in to play that everything works as expected, until the parent control is touched, after which you must double tap and hold the second tap on the buttons to resume touch scrolling... which doesn't work when you have an on mouseup event handler on the buttons.

I would be okay with trying out a WPF port of this, except I've never created a WPF app before, and this issue with touch is the last I need to finish development of my production app - do you think this issue would not exist in a WPF world?

Thanks for the response Ford, your help is always appreciated!
