Windows 10: touchscreen of laptop stopped working

suddenly , the touch screen of my laptop has stopped working. on checking the device manager i found usb code 43 error, are both the things related

Laptop Touchscreen stopped working last week.


Sometime within the last week or so, the touchscreen stopped working on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite C55Dt-A5307). It has had Windows 10 Home since the free upgrade started last summer and never any issues. I did a clean install at that time.

However, now sometime in the last 2 weeks or so the touchscreen has stopped working. I look in Device Manager, and don't see any device that looks like it would be the touchscreen driver. I look at Toshiba's support page and don't see anything for a touchscreen driver.

I have tried using troubleshoot - hardware & devices. It says to Restart PC to finish installing drivers and updates, but doesn't make a difference. After restarting and rerunning troubleshoot it says exact same thing.
