Windows 10: Touchscreen on Windows tablet not responding at all so I can not try any of the fixes I...

I have a 8.9" viglen tablet that when switched on goes to the screensaver which shows the time in the left hand bottom corner and the round no internet icon in the bottom right hand corner but will go no further and the touchscreen does not respond is there any way to get into the operating system to allow the touchscreen to work

Surface Pro 7 touchscreen no longer responds

I've been a happy owner of a Microsoft Surface (w/ keyboard), purchased earlier this year. A few months in I began experiencing some touchscreen issues. The screen would become temporarily unresponsive after some moderately heavy usage, but it would always regain its capabilities within a few minutes of going blank. Eventually it stopped responding to touch messages altogether and never regains the touch capacity.

I went through the steps on windows support for troubleshooting a non-responsive touchscreen. None of it brought back the responsiveness. What I did find is that there is a warning icon (exclamation mark in yellow triangle) on "Intel(R) Precise Touch Device" in Device Manager and "HID compliant touchscreen" is completely missing in DM. Devices and Printers in the Control Panel shows the same warning icon on my tablet. In the about this PC page it states, "No pen or touch input is available for this display".

I'm running 'Windows 10 Home 21H1'. The tablet has never been dropped or banged around, and it has not been wet; so, I am at a loss for what has caused the touchscreen to go unfunctional.

Anyone wise enough to guide me towards a working touchscreen would be much appreciated.

 

windows 7 tablet edition?

There is no "tablet" edition of windows 7 (all versions of windows 7 except possibly basic have the same functionality when it comes to tablets)- if it detects you have a tablet pc it changes a few settings (icon sizes) and installs a couple of extra applications which can be used with wacom/touchscreen style setups.

You can install windows 7 from USB with no problems, but I am not familiar enough with the steps required to do it.

 

Touchscreen monitor

Hi, I'm looking into buying a touchscreen monitor for use with a Dell Inspiron 660 desktop pc rnning Windows 8 in order to fully utilise the touchscreen facilities of Windows 8.
I'm preliminary looking at the Iiyama T2250MTS or T2452MTS touchscreen monitors. Anyone had experience of these, do they fully work under Windows 8?
Any other suggestions of monitors in the £200-£350 range?
