Windows 10: Touchscreen stopped working, HP tech support is worthelss

My touchscreen stopped working a few days ago while I was in the middle of using it...

I called HP and gave them the ID#s and they insist my laptop isnt even a touchscreen, yet it says "HD touch display" right on it, the QR code shows I have a touch screen, and oh IVE BEEN USING TOUCHSCREEN FOR A YEAR!!!

They refuse to even attempt to help, not that I imagine they know what they are doing.

I looked into HID, and it's missing and now the system says I don't have pen and touch. I'm furious and about to throw this thing through the window.


I've seen recent posts of people having the same problem. Something about and I/O? can someone please help me fix this?

touchscreen no longer works

I have an HP Pavilion 24-g030xt with touchscreen. In device manager under Human Interface Devices it doesn't list touchscreen monitor. My computer is about 18 months old and the touchscreen works fine until about 2 months ago. Any suggestion?

Hi, did you get your touchscreen fixed? I have the self-same problem. After upgrading from W8.1 to W10, the touchscreen on my HP Touchsmart 14 notebook no longer works. I tried the fix suggested by Tallytal but no success with that. Anyone - please help!
