TPM 2.0 is not being set

Hello, I'm Eren. I have been trying to upgrade my laptop to windows 11 for 2 days. However, I can't unlock TPM 2.0 in my BIOS. I have set to unlock the "TPM device" and "TPM state" parts as you can see in the youtube link below. After I switch to Windows I didn't see anything changed. Whenever I intended to download windows 11, the PC health care app of Microsoft says that my laptop does not meet the requirements about TPM 2.0 status. Furthermore, I have tried to clear TPM and I have updated my BIOS to the latest version. Consequently, all these attempts ended with failure. Therefore, I dec

    TPM support

I couldn't find "TPM" or "Trusted Platform Module" listed in any BIOS setting on 2 of my laptops. Got the mobo ID from system specs and did a bit of searching ... ah, there it is, not actually called that exactly, but same thing, and was disabled. Enabled ... booted up, ran tpm.msc. Bingo! Alive and well.

Your search engine will be your friend (one of mine even had a YouTube step-by-step how to access the BIOS, what to look for, etc).

  3. TPM update

Don't know if this is the right place for this thread but whatever, laptop informed me that " a firmware update is needed for you security processor (TPM)," now, i looked up what to do and from a microsoft support thing, the last step says to clear the tpm. it has a warning saying to back up my data, i would like to know what clearing the tpm does, and what measures i need to take to make sure nothing goes wrong.

TPM 2.0 is not being set

    TPM support

The TPM 2.0 specifications can be implemented by a hardware chip, in which case it will be listed in the bios as 'TPM'. Newer processors can also support a firmware implementation of TPM 2.0. This is where it gets confusing as that may be listed in the bios as fTPM or PTT. All implementations of TPM 2.0, hardware or firmware, will meet the W11 requirements.
