TPM module not detected in Device Manager

I recently bought a TPM module for my ASUS SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK2 to play Valorant. I enabled trusted computing in my BIOS, the device manager however doesnt show any security devices, even after a hardware scan. The trusted computing Tab in the BIOS shows the TPM state as enabled, but current status Information shows "SUPPORT TURNED OFF" "TPM enabled status: disabled" and "TPM Active Status: Deactivated"Please Help.

    :)

  2. No TPM module is detected

    Hi, MatthewDHeron

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It seems you’re dealing with a tricky situation. Here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Check If TPM is Disabled in BIOS: In some cases, the TPM module might be disabled in your BIOS. Go into your BIOS settings and look for a setting related to TPM. It is often under the “security” tab, but it can vary based on the manufacturer. If it’s disabled, enable it.
    2. Clear the TPM: If TPM is enabled but not detected, you may need to clear it. This option is also usually found in the BIOS settings. Be aware that clearing TPM will remove information created by the TPM that is used to decrypt encrypted data. Without this information, the data is un-recoverable.

Disclaimer: Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and is not responsible for the information you receive from the third-party linked sites, or any support related to technology.

If you are going to modify BIOS Settings, please back up all your personal files first to ensure you do not lose data.
    3. Update Your BIOS: If you’re still having trouble, you might need to update your BIOS. Check your manufacturer’s website for details on how to do this.
    4. Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware issue with your TPM module. You may need to contact your manufacturer or a computer repair service for further help.
If there is anything not clear or I can't understand your problem, please do not hesitate to let me know.

  3. TPM enabled in BIOS but no device detected

I have enabled TPM in the BIOS but it does not detect a device. Not in the BIOS or in the device manager.

I have no security devices and it is also not listed in the system devices.

I checked my hardware and it should be capable of tpm 2.0

Motherboard: MSI MPG 570 Gaming Plus

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

I read a lot of articles about this, but in every case, the computer at least detected something to be then able to re-install a driver or something.

  4. TPM module not detected in Device Manager

    No TPM module is detected

    Hello!!

I am attempting to reinstall Windows 11 however I am told that I do not have TMP 2.0. To bypass that I have created the registry edit that should bypass that. That did not work (as my system thinks no TMP module is installed full stop so the TPM version 1.2 requirement for the registry hack isn't met). Then I checked in my BIOS to see if TPM is enabled however in the BIOS I am told that no security module is detected. I KNOW that I do have a TPM module (and it is 2.0) as this was told to me by PC health check when I first upgraded to Windows 11. Slight disclaimer, my CPU is not compatible so when initially installing Windows 11 I used a registry hack. I am unsure what I should do now. Feel free to ask any more questions to help you solve my problem!

    Thanks

    Matthew
