  1. TPM.SYS causing issue when upgrading from Windows 10 v1709 to 1803

Problem: When a machine tries to upgrade from 1709 to 1803 it fails and rollback to 1709. When you run the SetupDiag tool, it states a 'DebugSetupMemoryDump'. And when you run the WinDbg tool on that 'setupmem.dmp' it states probably caused by 'tpm.sys', which means a possible issue with TPM.

So far this issue has happened on two HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF machines.

Your help is much appreciated. Screenshots below.

    Issue after upgrading TPM firmware

    Hello,

This is the update that I am trying to accomplish: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4096377/windows-10-update-security-processor-tpm-firmware

However after completing the steps that are listed within this article I am still not able to complete the actual upgrade. I still have the pop up that states i need to upgrade.

    I followed the following steps:

    1. ensure all upgrades are up to date.

    2. download the specific .EXE firmware update file and run it on my machine as an administrator

    3. clear TPM and restart.

however simple these steps are I have not been able to complete the update.

    I am on a HP Z240 SFF 1.2 TPM

What can I do to ensure that my TPM is updated to the latest firmware?

    TPM Trusted Platform Module Issue

Literally just joined for this issue.

I did a in place upgrade from the last version (17whatever) to 1803, which then kiboshed my TPM (was working fine before upgrade) - lame.

tpm.msc shows that I have no TPM - lame.

    Tried the following
*Clearing TPM with the Windows Settings prompt (like in OP)
    *Clearing TPM from bios
*Unencrypting drive fully (cos I didn't want to lose data) then clearing TPM, disabling, rebooting and enabling TPM again, in BIOS.

    Going to try
*Nuking laptop and installing from fresh, will report back after I try.
*Failing above nuke, will try with Windows 10 1709, to confirm this is a 1803 issue.

    Thoughts
*Have a feeling this is a 1803 problem - lame.
    *Dont upgrade yet, lel.

Yoga 900 13ISK2 with latest BIOS.
Windows 10 1803 via in place upgrade.

TPM.SYS causing issue when upgrading from Windows 10 v1709 to 1803

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
