Windows 10: Trackball & Keyboard Freeze

We purchased a new Lenovo desktop that came with windows 11 Home. I upgraded it to Windows 11 Pro so it would work with our office system. We use a Logitech keyboard and trackball with a unifyier. We have had a lot of issues with the computer locking up and requiring a hard boot to restart. When I was setting the computer up originally I used a wired keyboard and mouse and didn't experience any issues. My initial thought is the keyboard/track ball was the issues. I have used 3 different unifiers, 2 trackballs, updated the drivers and checked every setting I can think of for it but it still hap

I suggest you try Dariain's fix above. You do need to have access to a second computer. I wiped out everything, which I would not suggest you do. Keep your files--it is an option. Also back up your stuff to an external hard drive and make sure it worked
and can be opened. My backup failed, but my keyboards and trackballs all work now. I hate touchpad too. Whatever it took to get my trackball back functioning, it was worth it. Good luck.

 

Need some opinions on a replacement Trackball Mice

Hi Everyone, I have used the Microsoft Trackball Explorer since it first hit the market, I've loved it because of it's large trackball and my big fat fingers work so well together, Microsoft discontinued the product and even though it can still be found on Amazon, I will not be paying over 600 for one ever.

The 2 that I own have been rebuilt, and rebuilt, and they have pretty much reached the end of the road, so I am looking for a new trackball mouse with a large trackball, I have other regular mice but I prefer the trackball as I like it stationary.

So I would like some suggestions from fellow trackball users of a good quality trackball with a large trackball, that you are personally using for gaming, please list the pros and cons or likes and dislikes of what you recommend?

Unifying keyboard and trackball occasionally not responding

Nope. Ancient device issue. Interference with the Unifying device is the biggest cause, along with a faulty trackball. The Trackball never worked right from day one. I have the MX Master and it works way better than the trackball ever did. I would also look at getting a Bluetooth keyboard instead of using the Unifying gear.
