Windows 10: Trackpad not working after installing drivers for said trackpad

Issue 1: Touchpad not working

Issue 2: TrackPoint not working

Probable cause: Windows Insiders Preview build 18204

What I have tried:

>Reinstalling drivers

>Resetting the preview build

>Reverting to the latest public release of Windows

>Installing new drivers on the public version of Windows

More Info:

Windows settings does recognize the touchpad as a device, and the drivers and devices in Device Manager say it is working correctly (See attached). Touchpad is enabled in the BIOS. Enabling touchpoint is greyed out, which makes no sense, seeing as I have all the required drivers.(See attached)

Without much to go by, and OneKey not working, im going to try installing a more stable windows insider release

Updating to an insider build did nothing. Touchpad still unresponsive. Im starting to think it is a hardware issue.



After checking my Thinkpad's hardware, the cable and touchpad are in perfect condition, which leads me back to suspecting it is a software issue. Windows does recognize the presence of the touchpad, and i can change settings for it, but i do not know if something is overriding the touchpad or whatnot. In the BIOS the touchpad is enabled.

laptop trackpad not working after windows 10 upgrade

the Toshiba website has no windows 10 listing of drivers for my model p50w-b00f (yet).

The trackpad on/off button does nothing.

note: the trackpad does work while booting. the little circle on black screen.

No. Because the troubleshooting guide on device manager wont even resolve my solution as it is also a basic and one of the primary steps to do but no avail. Tried installing powerplan7 and trackpad++ suggested by relentless on apple forums but with
no success for me. Until now i can't use windows 10 installed on my macbook pro 15inch late 2008 because of the trackpad/touchpad failure.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

1. Press Windows key + X and select device manager.

2. Click "view" and select "show hidden devices".

3. If the trackpad driver is listed, right click on the driver and uninstall it.

4. Restart the computer and have Windows automatically install the driver upon restart.
