    Traffic generating (Testing WAN connections)

    Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a program that can generate traffic with many concurrent connections (thousands if possible).
I tried using LAN Bench but the results are not consistent.

This is for testing WAN connections from a main site to sub-sites.

Any input will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    :)

  2. How to connect to automatically initiate a Dial Up connection (with username and password) when I plug my internet cable (provided by ISP) in WAN port

I am using Windows 10. Generally , what happens is that when I plug internet cable in WAN port, to get connected I have to go to Dial Up settings and then click "Connect" to enjoy internet connectivity.

I want to eliminate the hassle of going to Dial Up settings and click " Connect". I want that as soon as I plug my internet cable in my laptop's WAN port, it shall connect.

Is there a way of doing so by creating task in "Task Scheduler" or any other way.

    P.S, I don't use a router.

  3. Mail for Exchange (MfE) makes 3G connection (to somewhere) even if WLAN is configured.

    Hi!
I use Mail for Exchange (2.07.000) on my Nokia E51.
I noticed that it connect to the Internet using 3G!!!
even if Sync mode set to manual and connection is set to WLAN.
So it just generates extra traffic even if I am abroad!!!
There is a process which starts on the phone automaticaly: EasStartup.exe. This causes the problem.
If I kill the process, there is no more 3G connection initiated.

I also tested the newer version of MfE (2.9.158), but the resuilt is the same.
    Thanks.

    Traffic generating (Testing WAN connections)

Your best bet is probably to use something like Wireshark. It can capture traces and then replay them, or you can write code to manipulate those traces. Download Wireshark at Wireshark Download. You'll also want to check out the Open Source Ostinato Network Traffic Generator at Ostinato Network Traffic Generator.
