Windows 10: Transcend 1TB USB drive falls a sleep in Windows

I have USB3.0 hard drive Transcend. I installed some software to it. When I execute that soft, it runs some calculations in memory RAM, but it stores some cache data every 15-30 min back to its folder on the USB drive. I notice If I don't touch the comp for a long period of time, my Transcend goes to sleep mode, but my comp never goes to sleep mode on it's own. So when that soft tries to save some data to the USB drive, it crashes because USB drive is in not reachable. How can I fix it? I don't want USB drive to go to sleep mode.

Portable HD 1TB not reconized since Win10 Fall update

1TB SP Armor portable HD not recognized on 3.0 or 2.0 USB ports since Win10 Fall update. Ports will read USB flash drives. Also 1TB drive will read on another PC running Win 10 on both 3.0 & 2.0 ports. I have deleted drivers and reinstalled. Any suggestions
will be helpful. Thanks, Tom

 

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk
