Windows 10: transfer all data from vista to windows 10

Hi .

I have been running vista. now I have a new computer a Dell with windows 10 pre installed. I have made a full back up to an external hard drive from my old vista and would like to transfer all that data from the external hard drive to the new windows 10

My Old Windows Vista just wont start Up and I need to know if there is a Wire or Cord I can use to Transfer Data because I can't do Anything you Said

A friend tried Easy Transfer and found out it is not compatible with Windows 10. He downloaded Lap Link. The data transfer from Vista took 3 1/2hr. The data transfer to windows 10 is still processing 21 hours later. One friend said to stop it and another
said to let it run. Don't know if anything would be destroyed if I stop it.

Don't know what to do. Lap Link of course does not answer their phone and is of no help. Hope to hear from you really soon.

Are you thinking of transferring data? If so then you can do it with any network connection, even with a direct cross-over CAT5 cable.
