Windows 10: Transfer Files before Factory Reset - HELP

Long version (short version below): When I bought my Inspiron 15 5000 Series with a solid state (holds OS) and disk drive (1 TB of storage) I didn't realize that the default drive was the solid state one (I'm not computer savvy). So now I'm almost out of space and transferring everything over has been a real hell. I have a 1 TB external hard drive handy so the plan is: transfer everything I've put on my laptop the past two years EXCEPT OS (for obvious reasons) onto the external hard drive, factory reset my computer, transfer everything back to my laptop, and then do it right this time by setting the default drive to the disk drive. SO THE QUESTION IS: Is there a simple way to do that or will it be painful? (transferring everything onto the external hard drive so that when I factory reset my laptop I don't lose everything)

short version: I need to transfer all data from my laptop to external hard drive in one quick swoop, except OS, so that I can factory reset my laptop without losing everything.

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

Need Help Files Transfer

I have a computer running Windows XP Home Edition. That computer has two internal HDDs:

The 1st HDD is C:\ that running Windows. And it has 20GB total of capacity.
The 2nd HDD is D:\ that is empty. And it has 90GB total of capacity.

The C:\ drive is almost run out of space (full). Is there a way I can transfer everything in the C:\ drive to the D:\ drive and begin to use the D:\ drive from there on as primary drive?
Can the Windows Files Transfer feature in XP transfer everything I have in C:\ to D:\? If it cannot, then which way can I use to perform the above step?
