Windows 10: transfer the windows 10 activation key to new installation

Hi there,


I had my windows 10 Pro 32bit installed with the product key activated in Oct 2019 on my MacBook via Parallel Desktop.


However, I recently require to use the 64bit version windows 10 Pro and therefore I reinstalled it on the same MacBook via Parallel Desktop but I cannot manage to have the product key transfer to the new one.


I am sure the product key I got is good for either 32 or 64 bit Windows 10 Pro.


It would be much appreciated if you can advise how can I get this sorted.

Installing Windows 10 using Windows 7 key

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.

 

Installing Windows 10 using Windows 7 key

Once your key is registered with your motherboard you can always exchange the hdd for an ssd, just install it on the new ssd, after successful activation on your old hdd, windows will be activated on the new ssd.

Also a clean install with a windows 7 key will work, just skip the serial and afterwards go to change productkey and fill in the w7 key.

Thank you, but I still want to know if I can do a clean installation of Windows with my new SSD whilst my old Windows is still installed on the other pc?
