Transfer "User" profile to other Disk

My PC has 2 HDDs, a 250GB solid state drive system and a 1TB normal drive data. The system drive has 10GB free where as the data drive has 800 GB free.On the System Drive, I see my "user" folder uses 140 GB but size on Disk an alleged 115 GB.Can I just cut and paste the User folder to my data drive ? I note that the "Apple folder in my "User" folder uses some 50 GB. I just want to fre up some space on my system drive. I'm not overly technically literate so please use small words in your reply.

    :)

How to Transfer User Profile to Another User

    Hi, see

Transfer "User" profile to other Disk 110631d1485974105t-how-transfer-user-profile-another-user-snap-2016-11-19-13.17.31.jpg

    (The screenshot is Win 10).

    Suggest e.g.
    a. create new empty profile with parameters as needed
    b. copy profile to it
    c. log in and test new profile making sure you have access to all programs, desktop, files....
    d. delete original profile

Recommend: back up before making changes.
We strongly recommend disk imaging: Macrium Reflect (free) + its boot medium + external storage.

From what I've read and see, you can't copy the profile you're currently using.

    User Profile Service failed

To resolve your concern, we suggest that you follow these steps:

    • Copy the Default folder (in C:\Users) from another windows 10 computer.
    • Rename the Default folder to something like DefaultOLD (just to keep it for safety reasons).
    • Paste it in your Users folder.
    • To make sure that you won't have problems with permissions of the "implant" folder, just transfer it via a FAT/FAT32 formatted USB stick (those filesystems don't have permissions).

This will provide solution to the error User Profile Service failed.

Let us know if you need more assistance.
