Windows 10: Transfer Windows License to new build?

I'm building a new computer and am trying to figure out if my existing windows license will work on the new computer and if I can upgrade to Win 11. Or do I need to buy a new license. I bought a full retail version of Win 7 Pro initially, and upgraded to Win 10. I'd like to disable it on the existing computer, install Win 11 on the new computer build and activate with my existing license. I'm not sure if this is possible or not, or if that is even the right sequence. Or would I need to upgrade to Win 11 first on the old computer? Any help on how to properly do this would be appreciated. Than

If you upgraded from a retail box copy Windows 7, it has retail transfer rights.

Yes, thank you, these are the relevant steps. I only want to point out one thing, since the instructions are a bit misleading.

Once you get to step 5 and see a list of devices linked to your Microsoft account, you need to select your old device from the list. So open the Activation page from the new device and select the old device in the list and mark it as This is the device I’m using right now.

My initial understanding was that you need to find your new device in the list and mark it as the currently active one. What you're actually doing is selecting the device from which to take the Windows license.

I have now successfully transferred my Windows license to my new device.
